Why did you start this blog?

I began Life Into Words because I wanted to give some credit to people who work really hard on their music, but don't get the spotlight. I listen to a lot of amazing bands who aren't well known, and they deserve to be! Besides that, I'm a born writer who loves to share her life with the world :)

How did you come up with the name "Life Into Words?"

I wrote a song a very long time ago (I don't even remember it, really) and that phrase was part of it. It always stuck with me and is meaningful in that I have found my outlet of expression through music. Whenever life throws something at me, I try to craft a song out of it.

What bands do you listen to the most?

A few of my favorites are Copeland, The Rocket Summer, Good Old War, Chris Carabba, William Fitzsimmons, Slow Runner, Paramore, The Civil Wars, Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Teitur, The Weepies, Ron Pope, He is We, Nickel Creek... and anything acoustic.

Do you have any favorite venues?

I'm from the Baltimore, MD area, so there is a lot to choose from! I'm a big fan of the 9:30 Club in DC, Joe Squared (Station North) in Baltimore, The Electric Factory in Philadelphia, Ram's Head On Stage in Annapolis, Ram's Head Live in Baltimore, Black Cat in DC, The Fillmore in Silver Spring, and any coffee shop or random venue where people can show off what they love to do.

Do you record your own music?

Yes! I use Garage Band and have been recording myself for a while now. You can listen to my latest album by clicking the Bandcamp link on my homepage! My next project is in progress.
